Public Consultation The orthopaedic and traumatologic surgery departement is located on the 6th floor, pole A, A or B lift. The medical team (surgeons, physicians, interns) is available by appointement only from Monday to Friday from 8.30 am to 5 pm. To arrange appointement please : - contact one of the department surgeon’s office (go to “team” or click on the physician’s name) or - contact the central secretariat by dialing 01 56 09 22 77 from 9 am to 4.30 pm or - go to the reception desk from 9 am to 4.30 pm Three non surgeon specialist doctors see patients once a week. Doctor Hervé BARD, rheumatologist : Tuesday afternoons Doctor Dominique CLERC, rheumatologist : Tuesday mornings Doctor Aldo Franco, oligotherapist : Wednesday mornings Private Consultation Professor Emmanuel Masmejean sees patients for private consultation in his office only by appointments. For an appointment, please call his assistant, Miss Marie-Laure Pellerin. During office hours contact 01 56 09 32 77. In case of emergency or after business hours contact 01 56 09 3000 (or alternatively 01 56 09 25 25). If a surgery is planned you will be given an estimate. This estimate will include base price, over convention fees and also post-operative follow-up care for 2 weeks. Twenty-five percent of the total amount paid for the surgery is transferred to the hospital (October, 16th 2008 decree) Bandages The nurses are in charge of the patients’ post-operative follow-up care as well as the bandages of the urgent care patients (SAU) of the HEGP. Outpatient care : Monday to Friday from 8.30 am to 11.30 am. For patients who come to afternoon consultations, bandages will be changed during the consultation. Hand Staff At the end of the consultation, you may be given a referral to the Hand Staff On Wednesday afternoons, the hand surgery team meets with all the doctors and some of the HEGP kinesitherapists to examine some patients. This meeting, free of charge for the patient, aims at helping the surgeon and the patient to choose the most suitable therapeutic approach with the help of the extended team. Some patients may be referred to the hand staff by an external surgeon for advice. In that case, a medical report (either oral or written) will be made to the referring surgeon. Custom made splint making The physical therapy technical support center is equipped with a bracing room for the hand. Walking patients are received from 9 am to 5.30 pm, therapists will make you custom made splint. For these orthosis, a medical prescription is required. After your consultation, if the doctor thinks that you need an orthosis, you will be directed to the rehabilitation technical support center that will make the required splint.
